Imagine a holiday where you can indulge your passions for printmaking and art amidst the historical background of Florence in springtime…. Imagine enjoying wonderful Florentine food, perusing the shops and markets of the local piazzas and taking in the myriad of sights this jewel of the renaissance has to offer.  Imagine soaking up the springtime Tuscan atmosphere, follow in the footsteps of artistic greats and channelling it all to inspire you to create your very own prints that can be treasured for a lifetime along with the memories of a unique holiday experience.

We have a great programme for our tenth Annual Workshop at the inspiring Il Bisonte Studio, including all the favourites such as our walk with Elisabetta Cappuggi the Tuscan art historian plus intensive instruction during 10 full days of lessons.

il Bisonte admiring the 2017 book

We make a book for every participant - a wonderful memento to take home along with the portfolio of lovely prints you create.

Each year we have return students  who love the course.

Think about taking an apartment for your stay in the historical centre to fully appreciate the old city. Extend your visit a few days either side of the workshop to get the real measure of Florentine life. Rental costs of apartments vary to suit all pockets, it is an economical way to live in Florence as you can prepare the occasional meal at home with the wonderful fresh produce available from one of the fabulous markets. The rental cost for 4 weeks is often just a little more than a 2 week rental, if you can spare the time this is a great idea. We can guide you with information about the best areas to stay and reliable agents. Sharing with a printmaking friend is a good idea, the rent is halved and you have a like minded friend to discuss the day's class and enjoy the sights as you stroll in the evening.

I learnt so much ... about wonderful printmaking techniques to keep me playing for a long long time. Also learnt lots about travelling again, Florence, food, people, having fun and renewing my love of things Italian. Thanks for providing a great life experience.          Chris C

Looking for an apartment in Florence:

We have a golden rule, always ask 'what floor' because the old medieval stairs are just a little higher than those at home and even the fittest amongst us may find it difficult at the end of a busy day. We opt for an apartment with an elevator if it's over one floor up.

The area you choose is very important as the studio is in San Niccolo in the Oltrarno - the other side of the river. It's good to be able to walk to the studio.

Best areas are Piazza della Signoria - near Uffizzi - Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce.  Find the area on a map and avoid the very steep hill near the Boboli gardens.

Please check with us first to be sure.

Photos at far left show our old apartment in Piazza Mentana, 10 minute walk to the studio and on the right the huge five bedroom apartment we previously rented overlooking the Duomo, 20 minute walk.

Sharing an apartment can be very economical and a great way to experience living in Florence.  We love shopping in the stunning markets for beautiful fresh food  to prepare in our apartment.
