Celebrating 30 Years of a Classic
This October, we're marking the 30th anniversary of Babe here in Robertson, where scenes from the beloved film were shot—including in the very building that now houses our gallery and studio, The Hive, next to the new BIG BABE landmark.

To celebrate, we’re inviting printmakers from around the world to take part in a joyful Babe-themed print exchange. Submit 10 prints and receive a random selection from fellow artists in return.
Works will be exhibited during our celebration weekend (4–6 October) at Gallery 74.

RULES OF THE EXCHANGE:
THEME - BABE
Be liberal with your interpretation of Babe, think farm animals, a piglet, ducks, geese, sheep, barn mice, Border Collie or a cat - lovely characters from the movie. While we encourage creative responses to the themes of kindness, courage, and farmyard friendship, we ask artists to avoid direct use of copyrighted characters or imagery from the film. Let this be a springboard for your own imaginative take on a lovable piglet and the world around her! Read about the movie
PAPER SIZE
Paper size strictly 12cm square (4.7 inches square). Images can be printed edge to edge or on any part of the paper. Use archival printmaking paper. Send with tissue or glassine cut to size between prints if you think the ink will offset
TECHNIQUES
Intaglio, relief, collagraphy, stencil, lithography, letterpress, silk screen, white line, digital or any combination of these methods are accepted.
NUMBER OF PRINTS
Each artist will create an edition of 10 prints signed and numbered (1/10, 2/10, 3/10...etc) and mail to:

Each print needs the artist’s name, title, and medium in pencil on the back
Nine prints will be exchanged and you will be sent a random selection in return. One print will be in the exhibition and money from sales will go to the local Chamber of Commerce for the upkeep of the Big Babe
EXHIBITION
The prints will be exhibited at Gallery 74 The Hive Robertson. Next to the BIG BABE
ONLINE CATALOGUE
When the prints and fees arrive, images of the prints will be uploaded to the online catalogue
ENTRY FEE
Participation fee: $20 AU to cover costs and return shipping
DEADLINE
Prints must arrive by 19 September 2025, but please get yours in as early as possible
