ANZARA CLARK
21-25 JULY 2025
Thread, Paper, Scissors. Paper Textile Possibilities
We’re delighted to welcome renowned creative Anzara Clark to our studio for a special 4½-day workshop exploring the fascinating potential of paper as a textile. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover how to transform paper into cloth using traditional techniques, learning to manipulate and enhance it with texture, dimension, and colour. Explore the versatility of paper cloth—perfect for 2D artworks, soft sculptural forms, functional accessories, and even simple garments. Anzara will guide you through traditional Japanese paper thread-making methods and share ways to mark and dye your paper fabric. You’ll then use your custom-made paper cloth to design and construct a functional accessory or artwork, using techniques specially adapted for paper textiles. This workshop is open to all levels—whether you're new to working with textiles or an experienced maker curious about a new medium.
