DRAWN to PRINT  11-12 JULY

Photopolymer/ Solar printmaking Workshop
the 3 warm.jpg

Translate the fine detail of your drawings into beautifully resolved prints using photopolymer plates. These light-sensitive plates capture every pencil line and ink mark with remarkable clarity, opening up exciting possibilities for both delicate detail and expressive mark-making.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore a range of approaches to printing from your plates. We’ll guide you through both intaglio and relief methods - printing from etched lines for subtle, detailed results, or from the surface for a more graphic, painterly effect.

You’ll also experiment with colour and layering techniques, including à la poupée inking, transparent relief colour, and the introduction of additional colour through water-based methods. For those who enjoy a touch of richness, we’ll also explore the use of gold leaf in your final prints.

Chine-collé will be introduced as a way of incorporating fine, delicate papers into your work, creating soft, atmospheric backgrounds and adding another layer of depth to your prints.
